Donation Disclaimer

House of Hope Shelter is a registered nonprofit corporation in the State of Oregon and is currently in the process of applying for federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service. At this time, donations may not be tax-deductible.

Once tax-exempt status is approved, donations may be retroactively deductible to the date of incorporation, but this is not guaranteed. We encourage donors to consult with their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of their contribution.

We are deeply grateful for your support during this critical startup phase. Your generosity helps us build a safe haven for animals and their people.

Why give?

  • Support facility construction and safety upgrades. Donations at this level help build or renovate structures that ensure animal and human safety. These upgrades include insulation, heating/cooling systems, lighting, and slip-resistant flooring that meets humane care standards.

  • Fund the development of on-site veterinary exam spaces. This includes furnishing exam rooms with basic equipment like exam tables, lighting, and secure storage for medications. These spaces allow animals to be evaluated safely and immediately upon intake.

  • Purchase durable fencing and pasture infrastructure. Proper fencing protects both animals and staff, while pasture shelters provide horses, goats, and other livestock a safe and weatherproof refuge. Funds also support long-lasting, low-maintenance building materials.

  • Create community education materials and signage. Funds support the design and printing of materials that educate the public on pet safety, abuse warning signs, and how to access services. This outreach builds trust and encourages responsible pet ownership.

  • Sponsor intake supplies for newly rescued animals. Each new arrival requires bedding, bowls, food, ID tags, and basic care kits. These donations ensure every animal receives immediate comfort and care on day one.

  • Underwrite legal and administrative filing costs. Launching and maintaining a nonprofit requires substantial filing fees, registrations, insurance, and legal documentation. This support helps maintain compliance and secure our long-term mission.
